Day in the Life 2016 Photos + Words

How many of you took part in Ali EdwardsDay in the Life at the end of March? This was my first time participating in the Day in the Life; I did my first Week in the Life last year and LOVED it, so I thought I’d give this a-go and I’m so glad that I did.

Here are my pictures + words from that day, March 29th.

7:32 am | Our screened in porch is my favorite spot, especially in the morning. I just let Maggie out and am enjoying the sun & quiet.

8:11 am | Got my Upper Fix done. Maggie is always watching me and sitting near the fan. She gets a treat when I’m done so she’s patiently waiting.

8:36 am | Cinnamon bun muffins in the oven for the kids. This is one of their favorite breakfasts right now. Jack begs me EVERY DAY to make this and so I usually make it a couple of times a week. They’re Paleo and so I figure they’re super good, why not make it for them as much as I can? I had a granola bar and Ningxia Red for breakfast and my multi-vitamins and supplements.

9:26 am | Dusting, cleaning floors and cleaning bedding. So thankful to be moving back into our master bedroom today after being upstairs for 2 months on air mattresses in our bonus room due to the skunk that sprayed our crawl space. I hate skunks.

10:26 am | Jack & Luke are playing a game Jack created called, “Soldier mania attach of the monsters.” Not sure who is winning, but they are having fun.

photo7

10:59 am | Math with Caylin. She’s learning division with remainders. She loves math, but not liking this lesson too much.

photo9

12:34 pm | Luke loves to help me and so I put him to work putting away his Daddy’s socks. Gotta take advantage of it while he still thinks it’s fun. ;)

1:49 pm | Water guns and getting shot right in the face.

photo12

2:06 pm | Now onto bubbles. These are so much fun. Can’t beat it for $3.88.

2:45 pm | Up next: Playdoh. This Mama is tired. Luke has already thrown his down a few times, Caylin is making beautiful creations and Jack is sticking his Lego people in his Playdoh like it’s volcanic lava.

3:40 pm | Unloading the dishwasher while the kids still play Playdoh out on the screened in porch. Listening to KLove and munching on a few cashews.

5:24 pm | Maggie is always waiting for me at the top of the stairs.

photo8

5:48 pm | Caylin’s newest collection that she’s started – Tsum Tsums.

photo20

6:47 pm | Spontaneous dance party with Jack. The dude has some moves. He loves to bust out his “break dancing,” too and it gets a bit dangerous.

8:13 pm | Teeth brushing time. Let the bedtime routine begin!

photo23

8:30 pm | Caylin wanted to read Luke a book before bed, but he wanted nothing to throw a temper tantrum instead. Jack enjoyed the book at least.

photo24

8:47 pm | Time to spend a bit of time online sending out emails and working on my business. Listening to Lauren Daigle’s CD.

9:20 pm | Hanging out with the hubby watching “The Blindspot.”

There you have it. My March 29th in photos + words. I just printed out my photos and have it all laid out and so I’ll be sharing my Day in the Life with you all soon. I’ve decided to use 6×8 page protectors for it and of course Ali’s super cute Day in the Life kit. I’m excited to whip out that time stamp! Eeeek! I really loved this project and plan on doing it a few times a year now. It really helps me focus on the every day, which y’all know I love, and it’s neat to see a day of our lives in perspective like that. So much fun! I didn’t take as many pictures as I would have liked, but I’ll work on that next time! I do have enough throughout the day to really give a good synopsis of our day and so that is what matters.

Something that helped me so much was posting (most of) them on Instagram and then putting the time and then some details about what was happening so that I could just copy + paste that into my blog and also into my project when I work on that. It saves SO much time and I love having that already done. I noticed Ali did that, too and she loved it as well. I am going to do it this way next time as well!

I hope you all have a blessed day! I’ll be back with more to share! XO!

Loved seeing this!!! As I was reading, I thought, we should be going for a walk together at least once a week. I would love to spend time with you. If you walk across from my house, I can walk right through the fence to your street! Let me know if you ever want to!
