Hi blog readers! :-D
How are you today? Hope you are having a good day!
Making cards for the Cards for Kate card drive? Donating to download a beautiful digital Kit for Kate? I hope so! :) I made another layout using that beautiful digital kit last night. I added it to the post below. Check it out! So many beautiful papers and elements in that kit! Crystal ROCKS! Wish I had her talent!

Remember that felt I bought awhile back in this post? Well, this is what some of it has turned into:

Aren’t they fun and colorful? Right now they are just felt flowers with a embroidered button middle, but they could be a magnet if you added one to the back, an embellishment for a card or layout, you could put a pin on the back of it and attach it to a cardigan or even attach it to a purse, etc. I might do all of the above. :-D Leave me a comment on this post and I will draw someone’s name to send a little pack of these to. If you’ve made cards for Cards for Kate and/or bought the digital kit or just donated to the Kit for Kate, let me now that too and I will put your name in the drawing a couple more times. :)

Also, look what arrived at my doorstep yesterday …

I got my very own Hootie owl mug from my sweet friend, Nichole. Isn’t he cute? I have a thing for owls. ;) I don’t think I’m drinking out of him though – he’s just going to sit in my studio and make me smile when I look at him. Thank you again, Nichole! She rocks, too! ;)

Let’s see… what else … oh and I wanted to share this song that I listen to A LOT lately. It’s by Brandon Heath and called “Wait and See.” Love him. Love the song. Love the album. Good stuff. Give it a listen:

And you have got to watch this. This video makes me cry every time I watch it. They are happy and joy-filled tears! I just love this so much. Makes me smile, laugh, dance and makes me want to know those people. Now THAT is a wedding entrance. ;) Enjoy it if you haven’t seen it already!

Well, that’s my ramble for the day. PLEASE see the post below about the beautiful Kit for Kate and how you can donate $5 ore more and download the kit. All donations go to the sweet family of Kate McRae who is battling brain cancer. Please spread the word about the kit and Cards for Kate. The first batch of cards (around 100) are being mailed off to the family today. The family is so excited because Kate loves to get mail! She’s a girl after my own heart! ;) There are more prizes being added to the prize list click HERE to see them and watch out because Tim Holtz has donated an awesome prize and more details will come about that soon! :-D Also, Jana has started to keep a list of all of those who have sent in cards and how many so if you are wondering if yours was received you can go HERE to see the list and check that. EVERY card you send in gives you a chance to win a fabulous prize as a thank you! Thanks for reading my ramble! I’ll be back soon and leave me a comment for a chance to win a little pack of my felt flowers!

I remember the felt and wondered…so glad you shared. And I would love to be the one you share with. I am going to try to do this also, but guess I will have to cut the old-fashioned way. I only have a Quick Kuts and a Sidekick, and I don't think they'll cut felt (but maybe I should try anyway ;O). A question about the donation for Kate and the digi kit. I'm thinking of giving it a go, but wouldn't want to make a donation that would offend the designer by not being enough…I really don't know what digi stuff goes for. Any suggestions of a ball park figure so that I could make a donation?

    Hi Monika!
I don't have ANY die cutting machines so you've got me beat! All I did was punch out a scallop circle shape with a punch by Creative Memories and then traced it onto the felt and hand cut them. Then I took a smaller chipboard flower I had, traced that onto felt again and cut that out. Put them together, added a threaded button and I was done! It didn't take that long really – just been working on them the last couple of days here and there.

As for the donation for the kit. It is a pretty big kit so those usually go for around $8-12, but even $5 is a great donation. ANYTHING is a great donation, seriously. Crystal wouldn't be offended at all! She'd be thankful you donated whatever you could! Hope you get the kit! It's beautiful and digi is fun! ;) Hugs!

Did you die cut those flowers then stitch a button in the middle?! There are so many possibilities for those huh? Hair clips, bouquets, headbands, rings, necklace, clothing accessories, etc. Too fun!

Oooh, we're big on Brandon Heath here as well. He's coming to TX in October and I was all ready to call a friend and buy the tix, but it is the weekend my family is going out of town…so sad to miss him!
