Cards for Heroes Bloghop

Photobucket

Hi there everyone! Thank you for stopping by! Happy Memorial Day Weekend to you all, too! I have the pleasure of being a part of a wonderful thing today – the Cards for Heroes Bloghop.

The Cards for Heroes (http://cardsforheroes.org/) mission is to support our nation’s armed forces by sending blank greeting cards to write home on, as well as cards of gratitude to encourage them throughout their deployment. They are an all-volunteer group of crafters. To date, Cards for Heroes has sent over 140,000 cards to our heroes serving in the Middle East. You can find more information on making and sending cards HERE

A bloghop is a blast of creativity and sharing. Bloggers from all over the United States and abroad are posting a card and sharing why THEY are participating in honoring our nation’s heroes. Along the way – everyone will be inspired! You’ll start at one blog and that blog will share their card and then give you a link for the next blog to check out!

This bloghop will be helping spread the word about this wonderful organization and help get more folks creating cards and more financial help from donors.

I wanted to be a part of this bloghop for a lot of reasons, but the main reasons are because I support our service men and women and what they do for our country. I am grateful for the sacrifices that not only THEY make, but the sacrifices their families make. My Dad was in the Army for almost 30 years and my husband was in the Army as well. I have great respect for our military. Growing up in a military family was wonderful. Sure it was hard to move around a lot and to always be the “new kid” at school, but it shaped me into the person that I am today and I am thankful for that. The “not as important reason” I wanted to participate in this bloghop is because I LOVE to create and make cards and to make cards for something so wonderful is an added bonus. :)

I participated in a Holiday Card Drive the Cards for Heroes put on this past holiday season. I made about 20 cards and it was a very rewarding experience. I love what Cards for Heroes stands for and what it does for our troops.

Here is the card that I created:

The next stop on the bloghop is Kimber McGray’s lovely blog.

I just love Kimber’s work. She creates such beautiful cards and her layouts and other projects are just as beautiful. Kimber’s husband, Capt William McGray, is the Commander of the 38th MP Company out of Danville, IN and he recently served a 12 month deployment to Iraq. So thank you to your husband, you and your family Kimber for the service to our country. I’m so glad your hubby is home now. :)

So now it’s time for you to check out Kimber’s blog right HERE and continue on this awesome bloghop journey to support our troops and be inspired!

I hope you’ll stop by each blog over the weekend, leave comments along the way (there will be some prizes!) and be inspired. Cards for Heroes would love for you to be a part of what they do and take the time to contribute!

Thank you to Cards for Heroes for all that they do and for allowing me to be a part of this special bloghop. Most importantly, thank you to ALL of our service men and woman for all that you do for our country. I admire your bravery and am grateful for the sacrifices that you make. May God bless you and your families today and every day.

Have a very blessed Memorial Day and please remember and pray for all of those who have served our country, are serving our country and those that have died for our country.
