Project Life: My Studio

Hi there!

I thought I would take just a bit to show you all my studio (it’s still a work in progress) and how I have things set up so that my Project Life goodies are always easily accessible and handy. There is still some work to be done in my studio. Sometime this year I hope to have a long butcher block counter top go the length of my longest wall and have it shaped like a “T” so that there is a work space that extends out into the middle of the roomwhile allowing both my daughter and myself each a desk area for our laptops, etc. It’s also going to be a place where we do our homeschooling work every day. I’m excited about that, but that is going to be a bit later in the year so until then, I have a desk in my studio that I use OR I am going to haul a few of my PL necessities over to our dining table area to work since that is nearby. Since I’m keeping PL simple – it’ll be easy. :)

I have this white armoire in my studio that houses most of my scrapbooking goodies. Here’s a view of it opened:

I have a couple polka dotted fabric containers that I keep some embellishments and other goodies in, I have plastic organizers that holds patterned paper and scraps (the left side) and the right ones hold my stamps and ink that I am going to use for PL.

The second drawer is going to hold my page protectors. The last drawer holds adhesive and other tools that I can grab easily. The armoire also has three drawers on the bottom that I’ve utilized. The top drawer has a bunch of cute bowls that I’ve filled with goodies. One bowl has some cute stamps I want to use in my PL album:

This bowl holds little notes and other paper pieces that I may want to add to my PL album. I’m going to fill it with lovely bits and pieces that I can include. :) This bowl holds date goodies. :) Oh and a few buttons. I love buttons. :)

There’s also some 6×6 paper packs, other embellishments and some photo paper handy in this drawer.

The second drawer is where I hold all of my punches and other tools. :) As you can see, Jack likes that drawer. ;)

This is my little desk space. I can easily remove my laptop if need-be and I’m going to use this journal to jot down journaling and special things I want to include in my PL. I love this journal! Got it at Paper Coterie! If you haven’t checked them out – you must! Go HERE! You can get $30 off of your order! Go HERE to see those details! I’ve ordered with them three times so far and the quality is great and the prices are, too! Oh and super fast shipping! :)

This shelf is above my desk area:

I have a couple of the below photo organizers and am going to use them to keep the photos I print in order so I can just reach for the box, pull out the photos (that I’m going to label or write on the back of) and get them in the PL album. :)

These letters are above the big window in my studio. :)

Well, there you have it. Just a little peek into my studio space. I’ll have to update this once I get my desk/work table situation completed later in the year! I’m really excited about that! I need some more art for my walls, a new desk lamp and a new area rug! So many ideas! ;)

I hope you’ve enjoyed the tour! Sending you BIG hugs! Have a blessed day! :)

      Hi Denese!
Thanks for the sweet words! I actually got that shelf from a craft store here called, Michaels. Not sure where you are or if you have that place, but they do have an online store, too. I used a 40% off coupon – so it only cost like $40! I’m all about super cute and super inexpensive! Ha! :) It’s this shelf:http://www.overstock.com/Crafts-Sewing/Making-Memories-Scrapbooking-Embellishment-Organizer/3275779/product.html. It’s made my Making Memories! :) I love it! Thanks again for the sweet words! Hugs! :)

Wow…I actually also love Ali Edwards! Love her! A friend of mine gave me a book on scrapbooking authored by Ali when I started this hobby back in 2003. I also am a fan of Becky Higgins. I remember seeing both their studios in a scrapbook magazine long time ago.

      Hi Stacey!
Thank you so much! Those little “buttons” are actually something called, flair. :) They are scrapbooking embellishments made by American Crafts. The “Dream Big” and “Find Art” ones are actually little pins that I bought off of a couple little shops online, but I can’t remember the name of it. You can see some flair here – http://americancrafts.com/subcategory.php?id=23&sub=138. I LOVE them. :)

    LOVE your room!
My room is sooooooo MESSY and unorganized!
and DIRTY inside all my bins! I need to CLEAN it out!
it’s well used and loved without being cleaned at ALL in the past
    5 years. ugh gross.

I am doing Project Life again, but this time making it my own, meaning I am not purchasing the album or any of the goodies, but documenting our year weekly in a journal and another binder book, similar concept but not really PL! I did PL last year though!

Kristina, I love the scrapbook journal from Paper Coterie! I looked around their site, but couldn’t find one similar. Which of their books are you using? I want to use one to record my Project Life photo info in 2014. Your blog is so beautiful!
