Ode to the granny square and a share

I have always wanted a granny square afghan and browsing Etsy for them – just made me want one even more. LOL. There’s something so cozy about a handmade afghan. I’ve had the pleasure of being gifted a few afghans through the years – one from my Grandma and one from my sweet Gramcracker. ;) I love them both so much. I really think that those are the best kind of gifts – the ones that folks take the time to make and put their hearts into. The ones you can pass down, get cozy with and of course take baby pictures on. ;) So – I am going to finally get a granny square afghan to add to my collection. Now to figure out just which one. LOL.

Here are a few on Etsy that I just love:

If you can crochet and do granny squares – I’m jealous. I think my friend Julie can. Julie – if you’re reading this – teach me. Heehee! I’d love to make my own granny square afghan one day. One day. Until then, I’ll drool over these beautiful ones and pick one up somewhere that someone has put their heart & time into. ;)

Oh, and here’s the share I was talking about – I created this layout for the Round Robin post that is up on the AMLT blog HERE today. Check it out!

I just love my sweet girl. That bottom photo is a new favorite of mine. I’ve already had a larger print made and framed it. It makes me smile. Her true self shines through perfectly in that photo. Gosh, I love photography. Sigh. I hope you smile a lot today. Hugs!

I wish we lived close enough that we could sit down together and do it, K!!!! You know what? I taught myself by watching YouTube videos. Seriously! Word. :)

    I love that layout!

I'm sure you'll find the perfect handmade blanket that someone puts their love and time in to. ;)

    Love you!

I'd go for the first afghan, it just says Kristina to me! Adore your new fave photo, too. Mama…it's the best job in the world. Zach's great-grandmother taught me how to crochet a granny square, I wish I remembered so that I could make those for Christmas gifts for the girls.
