Gatlinburg Mini Album

Hey friends! I’m so excited to share my Gatlinburg mini album with y’all today! This album was so fun to put together and right now I’m totally on a mini album kick – they’re so much fun and what I think I love about them the most is 1) they’re easy to put together and 2) you get to relive all of the fun memories while you’re doing it!

For this mini album, I used an Ali Edwards 3×8 mini album (that I actually purchased earlier in the year) and a bunch of the embellishments from her travel line this year, along with lots of things that I have been collecting and wanted to put to USE actually. As always, I kept it super simple, focused on the photos + memories and I’m happy to call this done.

For the opening page, I used a template from In a Creative Bubble HERE and just love how I can drop photos in and call it done! I used this set of templates quite a bit in this album so you’ll see that in a bit.

This is another one of those 3×8 photo templates that I just mentioned. I loved putting all of the pool shots together because we spent quite a bit of time up there playing pool. There was also an arcade up there that the kids loved. The lighting wasn’t the best because of all of the wood and red, but I made due and I think they worked in this template at least.

I always love to include ticket stubs to the places that we go and so that’s what I did here. I simply stapled them together with my tiny attacher and then punched holes in them and put them in the album.

Another thing that I love to do in my mini albums is include different types of pages, tags, ephemera, that type of stuff to give it some different textures, depths, etc. I put this tag in there just for something different and then printed out a photo of our “big foot” sighting on the back. It was a running joke with us – Jack is on a BIG big foot kick lately and so he was looking for signs of him in the mountains and we drove past this guy and it was too funny!

Love this impromptu family photo even though it’s a bit blurry.

I also used a lot of 3×8 inserts from Ali’s travel collection as well to get more information, tidbits in the album about the trips. Making lists is a great, easy way to get memories down!  I also included a folded map of Gatlinburg.

The Details card is another template that I printed out from In a Creative Bubble. I definitely had to talk about the Donut Friar and all of the yummy donuts we ate on the trip! Ha! It was a must!

Another thing I wanted to be sure to include in this mini album is just each person in the family’s favorite memories from the trip. All I did was create a 3×8 file, added the text, printed it out and slipped it in! Nothing difficult at all!

Another fun thing to add into mini albums are menus. We ate at this place a couple of times and loved it. Decided to stick that on into the album.

Finally, it’s always a good idea to set the camera up, put the timer on and get a group shot of the family at some point on vacation. Even ask a stranger to take your photo! You will be glad that you did! We had so many laughs around this little round table those 4 days. I wanted to be sure to capture us there and I’m so happy that I did.

I taped this sweet little hand drawn cross onto the back of my album because it was so special. My sweet Jack had his little adventure notebook with him on the trip (remember, he was also documenting Big Foot evidence, LOL) and one night he decided to draw everyone in the family a cross and then drew one that said, “JESUS LOVES YOU” on it and said he was going to leave it at the cabin for the next people to find. I thought it was such a beautiful, sweet gesture. One I didn’t want to forget and so I put the cross he gave to me in the mini album. I just love that boy and his heart.

Lastly, I added a simple chipboard strip to the back of the album that summed up the trip perfectly. It was such a great little getaway and time with family and I love that I can just pop open this sweet little mini album whenever I want to and relive it all again in a heartbeat. Gosh, I just love scrapbooking. Sigh.

Thanks so much for stopping by and checking it out, friend. XO!
