December Daily: Part 2

Y’all, I’m so excited! I actually finished my December Daily album the other day! I honestly didn’t think I would so quickly (if at all), but after only finishing 4 days, I got a breeze of creativity flow through me and just dedicated myself to getting photos printed and memories down and I’m so glad that I did. So, if you’re still a bit behind – DON’T give up! Keep on truckin’ along and no matter when you finish – you will love it when you do! There are a couple of things I’ll do differently next time, but I’m pretty sure there will be a next time!

Ok, so let me share some more of my album and then tomorrow I’ll share the rest of the pages so that this post doesn’t end up being like a mile long. ;) You can go HERE to see the first 3 days worth of pages.

So I’m starting where I left off, which is Day 4.

On this day I talked a bit about some of the holiday decor around our home.

These little “finger” snowman canvases that my kids did a couple of years ago are a favorite.

This is the back of that page where I continued on with some other photos of our holiday decor.

I bought this new cute Nativity this year and so I wanted to document it as well and just simply printed it out as a 4×6 photo and then backed it with some patterned paper and then added an Avery tab to it.

Day 5 was about all of the fun Christmas music dance parties we have. They’re some of our favorite! ;) I listed the songs that we love to dance to this time of the year on the journaling card and then slipped in a handmade ornament that I made a few years back that I’ve been holding onto. The string broke on it and so I thought it was perfect to slip on into this day. The “BEST MEMORIES” is a digital brush of Ali’s.

On the back is Day 6 where I simply documented my kids’ Christmas PJs. They get some every year and so I took a couple of photos. Honestly the photos were not the best (they weren’t wanting to cooperate and the light was a big harsh), but I called it done and actually think it turned out cute. Didn’t even do any journaling – just added a 3×4 card and a chipboard piece to the backside of the heart ornament.

I had this kraft bag on my desk and wanted to include it into my album in some way and so I just simply punch holes in it and place it into my album. My sweet daughter gave me this snowman that she made and so I adhered him to the front and inside of it are a couple of more Christmas art pieces that she made to me. I really love adding different textures and sized pages to my mini albums. That was simple and fun and love the way it turned out!

Day 8 is just a big 6×8 photo of the wrapping paper I used this year!

On the back of the 6×8 photo, I included the “FIVE THINGS” card and wrote down 5 reasons why wrapping is NOT my favorite! Ha! I then just simply embellished it with a glitter star and sticker.

In between Day 8 & 9 I added a really beautiful thick plastic divider. I used a big star die cut from Lawn Fawn and some yellow glitter paper to cut out a star and then adhered the “december” acrylic piece to it and adhered it all onto the front of the plastic divider.

Oh, and on the back of the star, I adhered  the same star die cut cut out with a patterened paper.

Day 9 I wrote about my son Jack and how much he loved the tree and how I would always find her playing in it or near it this holiday season.

Day 10 was about Caylin’s creativity and shared a picture of her coloring this super cute free coloring sheet that my friend Ann Kelle offered on her blog HERE. I added some confetti circles to one of the pockets (it was from an older December Daily kit – back in 2014, I think!) and kept it all very simple. That was key for me.

Day 11 was a photo of our “present closet” and the story of how I caught Jack in it going through things BEFORE they were all wrapped. LOL. Yeah, that was fun. I was so shocked and disappointed. We both learned a lot that day. I knew it had to be documented. ;) Oh, and the “this happened” chipboard is from Freckled Fawn.

Day 12 was about the small ways we blessed a few others this holiday season. :)

Day 13 was a large 6×8 photo of our sweet dog, Maggie in front of the tree and how we’re so thankful she’s here with us this Christmas. She was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure back in August and has been up and down a bit, but is still here, happy and not in pain so we’re thankful about that and celebrated it. Funny how this story ended up on Day 13 when she is 13 years old.

On the back, I simply placed a 6×8 sheet of patterned paper and then included one of the super cute trees that Caylin colored and cut out for me. I love including my kids’ handmade stuff in my albums when I can and I also love the pop of color this gives the light grey background.

Day 15 was about the new holiday music that I listened to NON-STOP and loved. I simply saved the CD artwork on my computer and then printed it out, adhered them back to back, punched holes into them and stuck them in the album.

I did add the Avery tab to them and a few embellishments, too.

On the 3×4 card I wrote a bit about them as well.

Day 16 was a 6×8 photo of one of our Christmas crafts this year.

Day 17 was all about our sugar cookie making tradition.

I included a 6×8 photo with some embellishments and then a couple of 3×4 cards and then trimmed down a 6×8 page protector to include two more photos of the cooking making fun.

I added the Avery tab to the trimmed down page protector since it was a bit lost in all of the layers. Ok, ok – I just love adding those, maybe that is the REAL reason. Ha! The “MADE WITH LOVE” stamp is from Elle’s Studio.

Ok, so I’ll end it right there and tomorrow you’ll see days 18-25th! Promise! Shew! If you’re doing December Daily, too – I’d love to see YOUR album! Leave me a link in the comment section and I’ll check it out!

XO!
