Smelly Faces: A Spotlight

I am super giddy about this adorable spotlight today! Last month when I went to the Young Living convention in Dallas, I stumbled upon this company and their super adorable creations. They’re called, “Smelly Faces” and hello – they are adorable! Not only that though – they have a super neat purpose and that’s what I love about this company. They made something not only cute, but it has a purpose! Can you believe that this cute stuff little creature is actually an essential oil diffuser? Um, yes!

When I received the package from Smelly Faces in the mail, I loved how it had a hand-drawn little smelly face on it and a super cute sticker, too! I actually got one of the stickers inside the package, which my daughter was super happy about because both of us were wishing we could have pried it off of the box! Ha! I have a thing for cute packaging, what can I say? Caylin loved those sweet touches, too! They matter! :)

The Smelly Face itself was packaged so nicely, too so it had a good, safe trip to us! ;)

The Smelly Face came with a little tag of instructions, which I loved, too. These would make a great gift for a child. What a sweet baby shower gift!

Ok, so how do Smelly Faces work?

Each sweet Smelly Face has a little opening at the top of its head that is fastened with a snap.

Inside you will find a little “brain” that is a little square piece of 100% wool that has been hand-knit together. It’s on this little hand-knit piece of wool that you would drop 3 drops of your child’s favorite essential oil. Then you just pop it back in, snap it close and it’s ready for your child to snuggle with, all the while diffusing an amazing essential oil. Now how cool is that?! Um, yeah, you need one.

These are just some of the oils that I think would be awesome in a Smelly Face. Since this is Caylin’s sweet Smelly Face (um, I totally NEED one for myself!) she put Stress Away on hers because it’s one of her favorite oil blends. The cool thing too is that you can buy extra wool “brains” from their shop so that you can have some extras to put different oils on. Oh, and there are even super cute little bows in their shop that you can get so that your little girl has a bow for her Smelly Face and then there’s another one so that she can match. How sweet is that?!

Here are a couple more pictures of Caylin’s Smelly Face:

The handmade quality of the Smelly Face is wonderful. It’s super soft and the stitching is well done. How can you NOT smile when you look at it? There are lots of different colors and varieties to choose from in their shop. This Smelly Face is the Watermelon one. Caylin named it Honeysuckle. ;)

My daughter has A LOT of stuffed animals. Ok, a lot really doesn’t even cover it. She has MORE than a lot, but what I love about this one is not only that it was handmade by a sweet Mama, but that it has a purpose to it and you know me – I love my oils and so do my kids – and this is a great way for them to have something that they can snuggle with that has the benefits of the essential oils. How wonderful would it be for a child who might be afraid of something, like the dentist or a plane ride to have a sweet Smelly Face with some Valor in it or something like that? Such a neat idea and it’s so much fun to support a handmade shop. It’s one of my favorite things. Having had my own shop, I know just how much of your heart and soul goes into it!

Little Honeysuckle the Smelly Face fits right in Caylin’s room. She loves her and I asked her what she loved about her and this is what she said:

“It’s really cute, fun to snuggle with and I love how my favorite oil is in it. I can smell it while I go to sleep, which is cool. Can I have another one?” ;)

So there you go. Super adorable and super good smelling. ;)

Every kid needs a Smelly Face.
