“I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.” Psalm 139:14

I’m super excited to share with you guys this adorable and special line of greeting cards and plush by DaySpring. It’s called U-Neeks and they are super cute and I just love the reason WHY they were created. Let me tell you a bit about them.

The line was developed as a way for mothers and grandmothers to connect with and encourage the kids and pre-teens in their life. Because the world can be full of peer pressure to conform and to be like everyone else, kids can sometimes become lost as individuals. Between the ages of 8-13, kids are in a time where they are most impressionable. DaySpring saw the need to stay connected and provide encouragement and affirmation to our children. But it isn’t just children who are touched by the message of U-NEEKS, our neighbors are also finding encouragement and being reminded that they, too, are Fearfully and Wonderfully Made!

Each U-NEEKS character has a unique personality and back-story that everyone can enjoy. I just love their names! My kids were giggling at them and they most definitely ARE unique! Some of their names include: Wally, Trysta Mae, Spunky, Splat, Mustachio and Muck. Adorable, right? ;)

DaySpring sweetly sent over some U-NEEKS for my children to enjoy and enjoy them they have!

Jack got sweet Wally and as you can see he loves him a little bit:

He sleeps with him every night and Wally has been known to go with him when we go somewhere. ;)

Caylin got two of the smaller U-NEEKS plushes named Trysta Mae and Splat.

She also loves them and recently I found her having a princess tea party with them! Ha! ;)

I also got a super cute pack of stickers:

    A coupon book:

And a notepad full of encouraging notes:

I really love how this U-NEEKS line opens up communication with our children to remind them that it’s OK to be different. It encourages them to be who they are because that is who God meant for them to be. I love how this entire line emphasizes the fact that all children are “fearfully and wonderfully made” and to embrace that and know they are loved.

The kids love earning coupons from the coupon book, too! The coupons say things like, “With this coupon you can stay up ______ later tonight” (that one is one they love to get, LOL), “Special trip to the park to play,” “Date with Mom,” “An ice cream cone for you” and so many more, sweet things that kids love. Each coupon has a Bible verse on the bottom as well so it’s a great way to get children more familiar with scripture. Oh, and there’s a spot on the back of each coupon to write a personal note to your child, too. So sweet.

The encouraging notes are wonderful because, just like the coupons, they emphasize God’s love for your child and have sweet, encouraging and positive messages for your child. I’ve loved leaving these for the kids on their beds, in a drawer, next to their favorite toy and with their lunches. They always bring a smile to their faces and it’s a great way to get a conversation going about their day, reminder to read their Bible and just to love on them. What could be better, right?

The kids LOVED the stickers. They thought it was neat to see these loveable and silly characters on stickers and they loved making sweet cards with the stickers. The sticker sheets lasted all about 5 minutes. I’m serious. Ha!

In today’s society, I feel that it is SO important to remind our children how it’s OK to be different. With peer pressure and bullying – it can be difficult for kids nowadays, unfortunately.

I know with Caylin and her diabetes – I oftentimes find myself trying to make sure she doesn’t feel different from other kids. That’s not always the easiest thing to accomplish so instead of telling her she’s NOT different from other kids, I remind her that it’s OK to be different from other kids. That God created her PERFECT in His sight and that she is just the way God wants her to be and she’s awesome and brave and amazing and wonderful and she is SO very loved. She IS going through something that most kids don’t have to do and that DOES make her different, but that difference doesn’t DEFINE her, ya know? It shapes her into who God wants her to be!

This U-NEEK line is such a great way to get the conversation going with your kids and in your family about everyone’s gift that they can offer the world and how all kids are “fearfully and wonderfully made. It’s an important reminder for our children. Life gets busy. Sometimes we don’t take that extra time and in a silly, but honest way – these stuffed animals they love are a great reminder of that.

You know Jack said something perfectly about Wally when he received him. He said, “This toy isn’t like any of my other stuffed animals” and he’s right! It’s not! And just like Wally, there is no other Jack. He’s got worth. He’s got lots of love. He’s got amazing gifts to offer the world and he cannot be duplicated. He’s unique. :)
