Week in the Life 2017: Thursday & Friday Words + Photos

Ok, so yesterday was super busy (hello moving in five days) and so I never got around to posting my Thursday words + photos for Week in the Life so today I’m going to share both Thursday + Friday to get a bit caught up.

This documentation project has gone by pretty quickly this go around and I’ve found myself the last couple of days not taking as many pictures as I have in the days prior, but that’s how I always am, I feel like. I start out REALLY good and then it slows down a bit, but I’m trying to work on that today and tomorrow on the last day of documentation. We’ll see what I do! I’m honestly just thankful to have some pictures from every day and I think they are telling the story of this week and the craziness of moving pretty well.

So here are my Thursday & Friday words + photos:

Thursday: I think I took the most pictures so far on this day.

12:02 am | Checking Caylin’s blood sugar. I usually check it at 1 am every morning, but checked it an hour earlier because she had pasta and sometimes pasta will play tricks on her blood sugar, which is not cool. Thankful she didn’t need a snack because I did not feel like going back downstairs to get her one and then helping her brush her teeth.

6:45 am | Let’s do this Thursday.

7:17 am | Sweet Maggie. Just brought her in from outside and placed her in her bed since her feet are wet.

8:00 am | Time to tackle this messy kitchen.

9:35 am | Looking up price information on Shopkins Live tickets. Caylin is really want to go for her birthday this year. Didn’t get any tickets just yet, but planning on going, I think. We’ve decided it would be a fun Mama/daughter afternoon.

10:18 am | Caylin has been working on this artwork for a bit this morning. It’s a drawing of her cupcake shop called, “Caylin’s Cupcakes.” There are lots of little cupcakes, balloons and even some gummy bears on the shelf. So sweet … literally.

10:43 am | My current view. Messy desk. Stuff everywhere and a little dogs feet poking through (Maggie is always sleeping under my desk near my feet).

10:49 am | Blasting some Trolls Soundtrack while we pack and caught Luke riding around on Clifford like a horse. He thinks it’s the funniest thing. He stopped and wouldn’t look at me since I was snapping his picture. Lil’ stinker.

10:53 am | After Luke was done dancing he grabbed some toy cubbies and began to push them around and was making silly sounds like they were cars and trucks. Whatever entertains him at this point.

10:58 am | The kids took some random Legos that were laying around and made some communicator devices for their wrists. Now they are running around and shooting lasers at each other.

11:02 a.m | At my desk getting some oil business + blogging done.

12:40 pm | Jack is working on place value today. He’s got a worksheet to complete and then he challenged me to a game of Old Maid.

1:02 pm | Browsing Etsy, looking at some prints that I want to purchase for our new home. Man, I love Etsy.

2:40 pm | Just got of the shower and pulled open one of my favorite drawers – the oil drawer! This is just one of many! Thankful for getting a shower today and for my oils.

3:04 pm | Yep, another sky photo. These clouds are so beautiful and today’s weather is gorgeous! Went out to check the mail – got the latest Story Kit – put the trashcan back and walked the dog. Then I got a bit hot and sweaty and wanted to come back inside.

4:25 pm | Running a quick errand with my peeps. Caylin and Jack are arguing and Luke is asking for cheese curds. That’s about right!

7:48 pm | They don’t always get a long, but then they do major heart eyes!

8:16 pm | Started tray 3 of my refinement trays. Almost there. Thankful these are not painful at all this go-around.

9:23 pm | We’re up a bit later since we’re watching the Predators game, but had to stop to take our photo. Fourth one done!

Friday: This day, however, I didn’t take that many at all.

9:25 am | Found in my pocket this morning. I love being a Mama to boys. Yesterday I found a Batman Lego helmet and plastic missile in my pocket.

10:55 am | The kids are all about Super Mario nowadays. They have been playing it more lately, just because we’ve got a limited amount of stuff to keep them entertained, but it’s so funny to see them play since it brings back memories for me. I loved Super Mario when I was younger, too!

11:16 am | Hang in there, Wolfie. That’s what I’m doing.

2:30 pm | The boys found the bags of Legos that I had packed up and pulled them out and they are now all over my bonus room. At least they’re having fun.

2:47 pm | A look at my current alarms on my phone.

3:40 pm | I might have treated myself to a Dr. Enuf today when I swung by Crackerbarrel.

4:35 pm | In the garage looking over some more things that I need to price for tomorrow’s yard sale. Praying it doesn’t rain, but thinking it’s gonna and I’m doing this for nothing.

5:08 pm |  Hanging out on the screened-in porch with Michael, Luke and Maggie. It’s raining and so peaceful. It’s also a lot cooler.

7:18 pm | Still pricing stuff. Please Lord don’t let it rain in the morning.

9:05 pm | Tonight some stuffed animals joined us for the photo!

Some things I am loving about this project:

• It makes me more intentional about my picture taking.

• It gets me back in the habit of picking up my big camera.

• It’s something my whole family can be a part of and I love that my kids have been so excited for our nightly photo.

• It reminds me of the beauty in the every day. Sometimes life can feel monotonous, but when you stop and capture your life throughout the day for a period of time, you see that it’s not. There is so much joy and beauty and goodness in the simple, every day moments.

• Memory keeping just makes me super happy and this project has given me something to capture in the middle of our moving chaos right now. All of my stuff is packed up, but snapping these photos and documenting them on my phone (and here on my blog) has been so joyful. It always reminds me WHY I take photos and record our stories. I think it has kept me sane this week. Hahahaha!

• It’s SO good for the soul. Ok, kind of similar to the above, but still. Makes me happy and inspires me so much in so many other areas of my life.

So there’s my Thursday & Friday. I’ll be back tomorrow to post Saturday and Sunday. So hard to believe that a week of documenting has gone by already. Thankful that you’ve stopped by and are following it all.
