Sago Mini Town + Toca Life: Hospital

Some super exciting news from the folks at Sago Mini! TODAY there’s a new super adorable Sago Mini app available called, “Sago Mini Town.” My kids have already been playing with this app for a couple of days and it’s a new favorite! Sago Mini apps are always so whimsical and fun and they have THE cutest graphics and characters … like EVER. My kids go crazy for anything Sago Mini and I have to admit that I’m a big fan, too. This new app is a lot of fun! This new kid’s app allows your children to be little city planners as they drag and drop different elements and create their own perfect little city with lots of fun elements. There are four unique locations and so many animated story tiles (like familiar landmarks, roads, houses, shops, nature, etc) and there’s just no limit to how creative your child can be as they play along in the app. They can build and then rebuild as many cute little cities as they want! It’s super entertaining and my kids loved all of the little surprises that they found along the away. Sago Mini always has the best, unexpected elements in their apps. Always our favorite part!

All of our favorite Sago Mini characters are throughout the app and the more they play and the more hidden tiles they uncover (like a volcano, rocket launcher or the ever elusive rainbow treasure chest – which my kids LOVED).

Here are what my kids said about this new Sago Mini app:

Jack loved “that you could build a cute city. It’s totally genius! The volcano and the rocket was my favorite! I also loved the creepy cave!” His favorite character is Jack. Bet you can’t guess why! ;)

Caylin loved that the more you build, the more surprise presents you get and you get a special little square! She loved the dragon in the castle and her favorite house was the worm in the apple! Totally cute!

Luke loved being able to move stuff and rearrange all of the cute elements. His favorite character is Jack and he liked the garden.

Here are some other features of the app:

• Four unique locations spark storytelling
• Drag and drop story tiles create endless combinations
• Animated surprises are uncovered as kids play
• Promotes explorative play and creative storytelling
• No rules or time pressure — kids can explore at their own pace
• No WiFi or internet needed to play – perfect for adventuring
• Ideal for toddlers and preschoolers, ages 2-5
• Whimsical artwork and custom sound design
• No in-app purchases or third-party advertising

You can go HERE to see a little video trailer of the app and if you’d like to purchase it today you can find it HERE in the App Store and in the HERE Google Play Store. It’s $2.99 and worth every penny, friends! Your kids will have SO much fun with it and any of the Sago Mini apps!

I also just recently learned that Sago Mini has a sister studio called, Toca Boca, that offers super cute kid apps as well and we were given the new Toca Life: Hospital app to try out! I had never heard of Toca Boca before, but they’ve been around for a bit and offer a wide variety of apps for kids!

At first my kids honestly weren’t sure what to think of this new Toca Life: Hospital app. After investigating it a bit and playing around with it they ended up loving it because there were endless things to explore and do with the characters. It seems like behind every nook and cranny, there was something new to discover and now they are hooked!

I love how the app shows kids different hospital settings like the maternity ward, the waiting room, the operating table, etc. It’s a great way for kids to become familiar with different things in a hospital so that when they have to experience a new sibling being born, a grandparent who is sick or a broken bone, it might not be so overwhelming and scary to them. With this app, kids have control of every aspect of the hospital experience and it gives them a chance to play out the joy and the pain of life in their very own way.

Once my kids found the secret lab, they were SO excited (especially my oldest son, Jack)! It’s been neat to see them come up to me while playing the app and showing me different things they are finding in the hospital and what different things do.

Above is a screenshot of the secret lab! So much fun and every little thing moves or does something – it’s super interactive and my kids love it! Caylin loves the Dr. Kitty in the app! ;)

Here are some more details about this app:

• Using tools you’d find in a real-life hospital: gurneys, bandages, crutches, hospital beds, wheelchairs and more
• Moving characters from floor to floor in the big elevator
• Checking surgery patients’ vitals on the medical monitor
• Encountering medicine to cure sick children
• Ultrasound, CAT scan and X-ray machines to diagnose patients
• A doctor who can help treat your patient
• A farewell room where loved ones peacefully pass
• An array of music selections that kids can choose from to set the tone of their own hospital stories

Just like the Sago Mini apps, these Toca Boca apps have a kid-friendly interface with no in-app purchases or third-party advertising, free of rules, levels or high scores.

I would say that this app is geared more toward older children.

Both the Sago Mini app, Sago Town and the Toca Boca app, Toca Life: Hospital, are available for purchase starting today!! So if you’re looking for some new kid-friendly apps that you will love, too – I highly recommend checking out Sago Mini and Toca Boca! They are both so much fun and One Happy Mama approved!

You can find the Toca Hospital app HERE in the Apple Store and it’ll be on Google Play soon.

Disclosure: I was gifted Sago Town and Toca Life: Hospital for free to review for this blog post. No other compensation was given.
