Luke’s 3rd Birthday + Project Life

Hi friends!

I wanted to get this posted on Friday, but you know how life goes – didn’t get it all finished up and so I’m sharing today instead! Thanks for the grace. ;)

luke1Today I’m sharing the birthday insert that I finished for Luke’s 3rd birthday. His birthday was back in August and y’all – this is DONE! Ha! I go me! ;)

To document his birthday I used a two DESIGN 1 page protectors and a DESIGN D page protector.

I always love to include some enlarged photos for these birthday inserts. There’s just something about a large 6×8 photo of my sweetie pies blowing out their birthday candles that I love. Sigh. I just put a simple chipboard “3” on the outside of the page protector to signify his age.

On the back is another 6×8 photo of Luke and this time I just included a puffy sticker from Elle’s Studio as a little embellishment.

Then I also like to include some little bits and pieces from the party – whether that be part of the decor, some birthday cards, a napkin, etc. For Luke’s birthday I kept a little bit of the decor (the Batman decoration), one of the napkins (we had some extra ones left over – we usually do – and so I swiped one for the album), a sweet handmade card Caylin made for him and then a little drawing that Caylin made for him, too. She loves to create handmade decorations for her brothers’ birthday parties. It’s the sweetest thing. I just simply put it all in one of the 6×8 DESIGN 1 page protectors. Easy!

I am VERY photo heavy with my birthday spreads, in fact, I didn’t include any journaling cards and I’m totally OK with that. You might like to include some cards, but for me, the photos tell the story and will remind me of the details and I’m good with that. I had a lot of pictures that I wanted to include and so I didn’t want to bother trying to figure out which one(s) not to include just to sneak a journaling card in there. I did include a simple label sticker with the date on it and then another couple of puffy stickers.

I kept it all simple, but I love how with Project Life, you can make certain special events stand out a bit by mixing it up with the inserts and putting a little spotlight on these events throughout the year you love to celebrate. You should definitely invest in one of the variety packs of 12×12 page protectors and the 5×7 and 6×8 vertical ones are a favorite of mine, too!

So there ya go! Three simple pages of Luke’s special day all slipped in and documented.

It feels good, friends.

Get those pictures printed and in those albums!

Have a blessed day!

XO!

This looks great! I try so hard to be good at scrapbooking and keeping up with photo albums, but it just always gets away from me!
