Luke Loves Watermelon Layout

watermelon1-edit

Out of all of my children, Luke most definitely is the most adventurous. He’ll chomp on anything at least once to see if he likes it and if he does, he’ll eat A LOT of it. Caylin and Jack both do NOT like watermelon. They’ve both tried it multiple times (I know, I know – kids have to try something at least 13 times before they can definitively NOT like something), but Luke tried it right without even hesitating and he LOVES it and that makes this Mama happy, not just because a nice big slice of watermelon is good for him (this one is organic), but because now I can get some super cute watermelon eating photos that I’ve always wanted to capture! Ha! I’ve always got that photographer/memory keeper hat on, my friends! ;)

So last week when Luke was eating some watermelon, I asked him if I could snap some photos of him and he obliged because he’s also the only child right now that ENJOYS me taking pictures. Ha! I was super excited and knew that the June Freckled Fawn kit would be PERFECT to do a little 6×8 Project Life spread, too! Total win-win!

So take pictures I did, while Luke’s chin dripped with all things watermelon and these are the photos and this is the little spread that I created. I wanted to share it with y’all. :)

The little pocket page card that coordinates with the June kit was so perfect to slip in this spread and I stamped the date on it diagonally going down the slice. :)

Then I added one of the label tab stickers upside down, stapled it onto the photo and added an older embellishment from Freckled Fawn with “let’s eat” on it onto the label. I added the circular heart puffy sticker to it, too.

The back of the spread has another great pocket page card that coordinates with the June kit (where I wrote a smidge of journaling) and then I added another Project Life card to the top right and HAD to include the super cute watermelon flair from the kit. Adorable!

Last, but not least, of course I had to use one of the watermelon acetate pieces from the kit. It was the perfect final touch for my mini Project Life spread.

Gotta love that little watermelon smile. It was worth the wait, friends. Totally worth the wait. ;)

Freckled Fawn still has the June kit available, so get ya one and be sure to check out Freckled Fawns new July kit, too! It’s SO awesome! I’ll be sharing some projects with that kit, soon!

Have a blessed rest of the day and weekend ahead.

Please show some extra love and kindness, friends. I’ve been a bit heartbroken lately with all of the news about the horrible happenings around the country. Let’s do our part and show love and pray. Do lots of praying. I know I am.

XO!
