Creative Options:
A Super Cute Organizing Solution

Creative_Options_Logo_and_tag

I am an organizing junkie. Yep, I admit it. Give me a label maker, some cute storage containers, baskets and jars & then release me into my studio (or other areas of my home) and I’m a happy girl. I guess that explains why I was super excited to get to try out some of these Creative Options storage totes. Not only are they super cute, but they are so versatile and come in handy!

The sweet folks at Creative Options sent me over the following products to try out and review:

Large Signature 5-Pocket Tote in Andee Cool

Tapered Tote in Viva La Pink (found in Michael’s Craft Stores)

Crochet Tote in Viva La Pink

Knitting Needle Roll-Up Tote in Viva La Pink

Total Tote in Vineyard (Available in-stores at Joann Fabric and Crafts)

I’ve seen Creative Options storage products before, but have never used them. I’m honestly minimalist when it comes to organizing things and so trying these totes out was new for sure!

Let’s start with the Large Signature 5-Pocket Tote. I REALLY loved this tote. It’s super sturdy and I’ve been wanting something to hold my basic knitting supplies in since I started to knit a few months back. I had my favorite yarn, needles and a few other accessories just shoved into a cheap basket, but this is so much a) prettier to look at b) sturdier and c) portable – I can just throw it over my shoulder and take it with me. Loved all of that. I really loved the pattern of the tote and there are plenty of pockets to organize and carry what you need. I love how the bottom of the tote is hard and there are little “feet” on the bottom as well that prevent the tote from resting on the ground. It’s a super versatile and I really loved the mesh pockets on the side as well. I filled it pretty full and still felt like there was a good amount of room to add a few more things. It kept it’s shape and I love being able to just pick it up and have all of my current knitting projects and supplies right there altogether and not scattered about. This tote can be found at Hobby Lobby and Wal-Mart (HERE), too!

Next up is the Tapered Tote. The first thing loved right away about the tote was that it was black and white polka dots. Ha! I loved that (it’s one of my favorite patterns) and it really is classic and so I love that they included this print in their collection of storage totes. I’ve seen a lot of storage totes in the past with patterns and colors that I just would never purchase, but you can’t go wrong with the classic black and white! Good call, Creative Options! When I unzipped this tote I squealed with delight because I knew exactly what I could use it for! I’ve had a Making Memories Slice machine from back in the day (y’all remember that one?) and I honestly love it … STILL. I haven’t given it up, but I never had a really good storage option for it before … until now. This Tapered Tote is perfect to store it and the little goodies that I have that goes with it. I love how it has a detachable pocket on the inside that is held by velcro. It was the perfect place to put the little memory cards and other small pieces that the Slice uses. Now it’s all in once place and I can just pick it up and have it all right there and ready for my next project. No fiddling around trying to find all of the accessories that goes with it and I don’t have to go digging for it in the box that I used to keep it in. It’s protected and I know just having it all together like this will make me want to pull it out and use it more. This tote can be found at Michael’s Craft Stores.

With the Crochet Tote, I also love that it was in that same black & white dot pattern as the Tapered Tote. Such a cute line! Since I haven’t learned how to crochet just yet (I want to learn though! Someone teach me!) I decided that it would be PERFECT to store my current fabric square favorites and some other sewing supplies that I am currently using for projects right now. I love the big, chunky handles on the tote and the size was not too small and not too big – seemed just right for what I am using it for. Would have loved it there was a little pocket on the inside, but nonetheless it was super handy and cute. This tote can be found at Jo-Ann’s Fabric and Craft Stores.

Now onto the Knitting Needle Roll-Up Tote. Since I was already using the Large Signature 5-Pocket Tote to hold my knitting supplies, I thought I’d surprise my daughter with this because, just like me, she’s super creative and crafty and I thought this would come in handy for her and I was right!

What I did was put in her favorite and must-have art/crafting supplies right now so that when she’s on the go or even just taking things from one room to the next in our home, that she can just roll this up and take it where she needs to go. She loved having it all at an arm’s reach all organized and tidy. She loved the black & white polka dots, too! ;) I think this is great for kids because a) it has a great fabric that is really durable and would wipe off easily and b) it just keeps all of those bits and pieces that they want to take from here and there in one place which makes this Mama happy. I also loved how durable the ribbon was and that there was a zipper pocket along the top, too. This tote can be found on Amazon as well HERE.

And lastly, I want to talk about the Total Tote. This storage tote is super cute! It almost looks like a purse and I love that because it’s not some big, bulky, unattractive piece that you have to carry around. Instead it’s a beautiful purple color and the fabric is like a soft suede. This sucker has so many pockets and compartments in it – I was so excited! I’m the type of scrapbooker that really can’t go to crops or just hang with friends and scrapbook anymore because a) I chat and snack too much and don’t really get anything done and b) I always feel like I have to take SOOOOOO much with me and let’s face it – that’s not really an option and even if I did take a bunch of stuff, it would be too overwhelming and I probably wouldn’t use half of it. What I love about this tote is that it’s going to allow me to be so much more organized and productive the next time I go and hang with my scrapbooking peeps! I love that! From now on I’ve decided that working on mini books with my friends at crops is the way to go because you don’t need THAT much stuff, you can take a mini book with you anywhere and you can work on just a few pages and if you accomplish that – it’s getting a good amount done. So what I did with my Total Tote is that I put all that I needed into it to go and hang with my friends and scrapbook and work on a mini book that I’ve been working on this year.

The tote carried SO much. I’m telling you – there was room for MORE even. I was able to put in it everything from my favorite pens, adhesive, my tiny attacher, stamps, ink pads, the mini books themselves, washi tape and more! It was great and I felt like everything had its place and it was easy to get to and put back. I feel super organized and ready to go now! You can find this tote at Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores.

I loved being able to try these different storage solutions out in my studio. They’re all really versatile and can be used any way that you feel best suits your crafting needs and I think they would make a great holiday gift for the crafter you know! I’m definitely going to look into more Creative Options storage solutions for some other problems areas in my studio.

I believe getting more organized really allows for more creativity and more productivity and that makes the maker and the crafter in me SUPER happy.

Have a great day, friends!
