Lists with Friends: Week 18

Happy Monday!

I hope all of the Mamas out there had a great Mother’s Day yesterday!

I thought I’d dedicate this week’s “Lists with Friends” to the sweet things I received or encountered yesterday on Mother’s Day. :)

  • The day started with a sweet and delicious breakfast
  • Caylin and Jack gave me two cards that they wrote in and drew on. They were precious.
  • I had lunch from my favorite Mexican restaurant
  • I got the crochet book that I had been wanting. Super excited about teaching myself to crochet this Summer.
  • I got LOTS of hugs and Jack even said, “I promise to listen to you today Mama since it’s your special day.” Ha!
  • I wore the bracelet all day that Caylin gave me as an “early Mother’s Day” present. Her face lit up when I put it on this morning. She exclaimed, “You remembered it!” I said, “Of course I did, silly.” She was so proud. ;)
  • Luke refused his naps today (he’s got his two front teeth coming in and I think is having a growth spurt), but even though he didn’t cooperate, he gave lots of smiles and cuddles and even danced some more for me today.
  • I worked on my Project Life® pages and have almost three sets of pages done. It was nice to just create and not worry about the messy kitchen for a bit. ;)
  • I found out one of my little sisters is expecting! Yay for being an auntie again!
  • Caylin and Jack put on two plays for me. The first play Caylin was a puppy and Jack was an alligator. Caylin made Jack a costume by taking big white sheets of paper and coloring them green. She then taped them to his chest, legs and back and even made him an alligator tail. Her puppy costume consumed of her puppy winter hat pulled all the way down on her face, socks on her hands and this slap bracelet as a tail. She cracked me up when throughout the play she’d lift up her puppy hat to reveal her face and then take a deep breath! LOL! The second play it was the Mermaid and the Lion. Jack let out some really good roars for his part and Caylin’s paper Mermaid crown would not stay up on her forehead. Oh, and Jack’s “lion back” kept flying off and had to be retaped. Ha! It was so cute!
  • Even though it wasn’t PERFECT (there were moments of frustration, some sleep deprivation, some kids arguing, my favorite Japanese maple tree having to be cut down and a bit of a headache (nothing that my deep relief roll on oil couldn’t take care of) in the midst of that imperfection I thanked God over and over for my blessings. I love being a Mama. They are my light, my joy and my life.

Yep, I had a really good day. I hope you did, too. Imperfections and all. :)

XO!

How great to be keeping a record of all these precious memories!
