Citrus Lane: A Review

Hello there!

I am super excited to have finally gotten a chance to review a box from Citrus Lane. If you aren’t familiar with Citrus Lane, here’s a little bit about what it is.

Citrus Lane is a monthly subscription box for children from age newborn to five years. Each month you get 4-5 items for your child, and sometimes something for Mom as well. The items are always a surprise, and the value is usually significantly above the price you pay. It’s also a fun way to learn about and try new products. The price of a box is between $21 – $29 a month depending on how many months you pay for.

Every product included in the box has been recommended and reviewed by their advisory board and a community of parents. No marketing gimmicks, no paid placements — just real recommendations from real parents for products that solve real problems. I just love that!

When the box came, I was so excited to open it up!

I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I was hoping for some goodies perfect for the kids! Here’s what I got in the box:

First thing I pulled out was this super cute Beginner Puzzle Set from Petit Collage. It’s such a cute puzzle. It’s sturdy and right away Jack grabbed it and started to put it together and it was perfect for him and his age right now (he’s 3) and he loves the different animals and colors. The puzzle is even made with 80% recycled content and printed with vegetable based inks!

The next thing in the box were two of these eco-dough jars from eco-kids. Basically it’s a natural play dough that uses a family recipe for the dough and it is made with all natural ingredients like plant, fruit and vegetable extracts. The containers they came in are great – large and the play dough doesn’t dry out – which I love. A lot of fun has been had with this play dough! I’m all about making our own play dough and so it’s neat to see a company doing the same!

Something Caylin pulled out right away was this super cute Yum Yum Bakery Hello Book by Hello Hanna. This book has a buildable sticker set so that you could create your own cupcakes and other cute goodies. The illustrations are just beyond adorable! Caylin had a lot of fun with this! I wasn’t surprised that she clung to this, seeing as how she loves to craft and scrapbook! It was perfect!

The last thing in the box was this really cute Nail Buddy kit from Me4Kidz. Caylin is all about having her nails done lately and so she was super excited to have this little kit to use. It contains some really cute nail care items (like non-toxic nailpolish, a file, self-stick nail stickers, etc). I loved how everything is kept together neatly in this case.

The main thing that I love about this Citrus Lane box is the idea behind it. I mean, how awesome is it to sign up for a subscription and then each month receive a box full of wonderfully made and thought of products that are highly recommended by parents? I love that and all of these products I had never seen before, so it’s just a great way to be exposed to other great brands and products.

I know that these subscription boxes are all the rage right now for all sorts of different things, but I loved receiving this and think it would be a fun surprise to get each month that is full of things that parents (and kids) can actually put to use!

The total cost for all of these products combined is less than the box costs so it’s a great deal, too! Woo hoo!

Thanks so much to Citrus Lane for the wonderful goodies! I was not disappointed!
