Freshly Picked: Review & Giveaway

I am SO thrilled to have been asked to do a review & giveaway for such a cool company!

If you haven’t heard of them, Freshly Picked is a company that was started back in 2009 by a Mama named Susan Peterson. She started to make baby moccasins for her baby at her kitchen table one day when she was frustrated by the lack of super cute, durable, well-designed baby shoes out there.

On a very small budget, using a bag of scrap leather that she got at a yard sale, she started to make cute baby moccasins. Her baby moccs have been seen on the little baby feet of the rich and famous and also little baby feet of every day Mamas like you and me.

I love how Susan built her business. I love the principals she stands on when it comes to quality and care that she puts into every pair of moccasins. I love how resourceful she was in the beginning to raise money to help her business grow (read more HERE) and I just love how a Mama who couldn’t find what she was looking for, decided to make what she needed and has become so successful in the process. Aren’t stories like that great?

That’s why I’m so excited to spotlight Freshly Picked and review a pair of their cute moccs today AND the awesome thing is that Susan is letting me give away ONE pair of moccasins to one of my lucky readers! Yay!

The moccasins that I chose to review were the Dark Chocolate moccasins that you can see HERE.

And here is my cute little model in them:

Um, yes can we say adorable? Ack!

What I love about the moccasins is that they are SO soft and you can tell just by holding them that they are durable and made with care. The quality of them are fabulous. When I put them on Luke, his eyes lit up and I knew it was because of how soft the soles were and he was liking that!

He stood up great in them and they have an elastic in them so that they stretch a bit and are so easy to slide on and off. Not only are the moccasins super trendy right now, but to me they are classic and these dark chocolate ones are gender neutral and they really go with everything!

I also love the packaging of the shoes. The pair of moccasins were placed in this muslin, drawstring bag with the Freshly Picked logo on it and attached to the bag was a Freshly Picked pin. Super cute and I love how the bag and pin can be reused! I’m a total sucker for cute packaging! Despite what my husband thinks, I DO believe that packaging is important, especially for women! We love to see what we buy packaged nicely and having a product come packaged in something that can be RESUSED is awesome, if you ask me!

I can relate to Susan on so many level being a small-business owner myself. When it comes down to it, we are both Mamas who were looking for something and couldn’t find exactly what we were needing and so we took it upon ourselves to create what we needed (I created my shop because I had the hardest time finding really cute wall art decor for my kids’ rooms).

I love the passion behind Freshly Picked and I am just so proud of Susan and her team and I have never even met them! I know how hard juggling being a Mama and owning a small-business is and I give her mad props for how far she has come!
