Spotlight: 163 Design Company

One of the many neat things that I get to experience through this blog is getting to know wonderful, sweet, good people and Jennifer Murray and her family of 163 Design Company are no exception. I have loved getting to know Jennifer and I’m so happy to be sharing her and her family’s wonderful company with you!

Here’s a little background about the company:

“Commit your works to the Lord, and He will establish your plans”.  Proverbs 16:3

One Sixty Three Design Company is a “take” on the above verse.  We want only to Glorify God and have Him move this company where it will go. From our experience, that seems to be the best plan!

We are a collaboration of ideas and effort between the Schumperts and the Murrays (Mom, Dad, Daughter…and supportive grandkids and son-in-law!)

How awesome is that? Just reading their “about us” totally made me smile and thankful for such a wonderful company. I jumped at the chance to spotlight them and share with you all a couple of their really cool products!

Jennifer was so sweet and sent me a couple of their products to review.

She sent me this really unique and beautiful monogrammed necklace. The pendants are made completely in-house; they purchase the wood from the local sawmill; then cut, sand, finish and laser all in the studio. The base is made from maple and the inset is made from cherry. The pendant is approximately 3/4 of an inch from top to bottom, they are FUN to wear.

You can dress it up or down and even layer with other jewelry. The necklace is a sweet little antique copper mini-ball chain (of exceptional quality), which comes in a 24 inch length. It’s simply stated and just really classic looking. I had never seen a necklace like it before and I love that about it!

The other thing she sent to me was this large custom “K” for my studio. It’s about 17 inches tall. It’s made with 1/8th inch pressed eucalyptus and it comes unfinished so you can paint it whatever color you’d like! I put one coat of primer on it and then just covered it with my favorite blue acrylic paint! You can even mod podge fabric on it! How neat is that? They also carry these letters covered in canvas OR you can even paint them with chalkboard paint! I just love it! It’s super easy to hang – you can use those Command strips to hang it! They also offer these in 12 inch, 8 inch and 4 inch. I definitely see more of these cute letters in my future!

Speaking of those cute letters … starting TODAY you can find a SUPER AWESOME deal on their large unpainted letters (and even numbers)! They are having a special on them for $7.99 each! That’s a steal and trust me they are SO cool! I am planning on getting some more to spell “LEARN” for our homeschool room. How cool would those be painted with chalkboard paint? Eeeeek! Cute! They’re 11 inches tall and done in the Impact font, which is simple and perfect for any room!
