My daughter asked me the other day if there was anyone on TV who has Type 1. I told her that I was sure that there were a lot of actors and actresses with Type 1 and so I did a little research and here are just a few famous folks who have Type 1 diabetes:

- Jay Cutler, Quarterback for the Chicago Bears
- Gary Hall Jr.,an American Olympic swimmer with 10 medals from the games
- Nicole Johnson, Miss America in 1999
- Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers
- Bret Michaels of the band Poison
- Mary Tyler Moore
- Actress Elizabeth Perkins
- Author Anne Rice
- Actress Jean Smart
- Justice Sonia Sotomayor
- Singers Elliott Yamin & Crystal Bowersox from American Idol
- Actress Sharon Stone
- Race car driver, Charlie Kimball
There are plenty more to list, but I’ll stop right there. Yes, you can do anything and be anything you want, even with Type 1 diabetes. :)
