Big Girl Room

Hi blog readers! :-D
Sorry for my long absence. Getting those wisdom teeth pulled really set me back a bit. I’m still sore, but doing much better! Glad that’s behind me!
I thought I’d show some pictures of my daughter’s big girl room since it’s ALMOST done. My hubby just has to paint the dresser white and then we have a little bookshelf that we want to strip the stain off of and paint white, too. We’re getting her a cute lamp soon (going to Target to find that cute lamp you got JB, Julie! Love it! :-D) and just a few little odds and ends here and there. I also want to make her a few other art pieces for her walls. Here’s a glimpse into it though. Enjoy! I’ll be back soon to share some work I’ve done lately!
Hugs to you all!

This is her colorful and fun bedding. Got the sheets at Wal-Mart and the comforter, pillow, pillowcase at Target. Michael made her a little toddler platform type bed that is SO cute and just the perfect height, etc. She loves it!

These are some things I made for her room. The two outside pieces are just canvases I painted the happy blue that is on my scrapbook room walls and then I went and found some inexpensive, happy, colorful fabric and made a template for a flower and then just used fabric glue to adhere the petals. I created a big chipboard center and covered that with fabric. Then made layered some other fabric for the middles and added a button with thread. It was super easy and they both cost less than $20. The middle thing is just a board that I bought in that shape at Wal-Mart, painted it the same blue and put a sweet wall vinyl that I bought at Once Upon a Design (LOVE them, by the way!). Easy! These hang above her bed.

This is the big and beautiful toy box that my Dad made for Caylin for Christmas this past year. It’s FULL of stuffed animals. :-D I thought it was such a thoughtful and cool gift. I am eventually going to make a cute seat cushion for the top.

Just a random little thing that hangs on her door. It’s from Martha Stewart and it was so fun to put together! I love those trees. :-D

This is a little fort that is in her room that her Papa and Nana bought her for her birthday last year. It’s so much fun and right now it’s full of her books until we get her bookshelf done and in her room. She loves books and I can always find her in there reading. Love her cute little head poking out of the fort. ;) The fort is from Target and I think it was less than $25. Steal!

This is just a wooden “C” that hangs above her closet door. Simple and sweet. :)

Well, that about does it! Just a few more touches and it’ll be done! Have a wonderful day!

I remember how awful it was having my wisdom teeth out. UGH! I feel for you! I hope you are doing better.
